The 6 Sigma WBT is the most advanced solderability tester in the world today. The 6 Sigma measures the wetting force of the solder wetting the lead. The data is collected and stored as the test is run. This data can then be viewed as a time versus force graph or the data can be viewed numerically for statistical analysis. The test is completely automatic once the part is loaded onto the machine. All motion is done via closed loop servo motion. The system is bench top in size and all parameters such as component fluxing, blotting, dross removal, and solder dipping are programmed and controlled via imbedded PC-based computer.
